Print Design

01 Port of Vancouver Suite of Reports
We approached the design of the annual and sustainability report with the focus on photography on a micro and macro level. The approach moved away from the traditional Port look and feel that traditionally was large scenics of Vancouver on the water.

02 Open Society Foundation United Nations Series
As member states of the United Nations take stock of the drug control system, The Open Society published a series of books that were contained in a wrap. This series intends to provide a primer on why governments must not turn a blind eye to pressing human rights and public health impacts of current drug policies. Designed at Signals Design.

03 Vancouver Foundation Report Card
The second report for the Vancouver Foundation to tell the story of Vancouver’s livability. After using illustration five years earlier on the same report, we decided to use more newspaper/infographic style using photography and iconic design . Co-designed with one other designer at Signals.

04 Wayward Arts
From RDG Website: An Internet search for 'Obsessions' revealed some strange quirks, freaky stories and odd confessions, inspiring the team at Signals to create the latest instalment of Wayward Arts Magazine, 'Online Obsession Confessions: Amazingly true obsessive commentaries transcribed from the World Wide Web'."We found that online forums provide some fascinating material. We realized that the content for the issue was already written.

05 Vancouver Foundation Vital Signs
Canada’s largest community foundation hired us design the report that combines the results of a public opinion survey with research to report on the livability and quality of life in our region. We developed an illustrative/animated approach to engage readers and viewers, featuring custom illustrations for specific areas.

06 Genome BC
a non-profit research organization, leads genomics innovation on Canada’s West Coast and facilitates the integration of genomics into society. We designed their ar’s for 4 years. Each year we tried to create something distinct and the results are some of my favourite reports.
